Cardboard Engineers: Grades 3-5

Students design and build a new project every week using kid-safe ChompSaws, hot glue guns, and cardboard. Every project solves a real-world problem and each week introduces a new skill that builds on the last. The Engineering Design Process is used every class: Define, Plan, Build, Test, Improve.

Note: No class will be held 11/23.
Time: 2:35 to 3:35pm

What We Make

Week 1: Name Plate — Design a sign for your bedroom door or desk.
Week 2: Picture Frame — Build a frame that stands on its own.
Week 3: Spectator Hat — Sun protection and team spirit for an outdoor game.
Week 4: Mini Mailbox — A working door and flag. Your first moving part.
Week 5: Pencil Holder — Holds at least 12 colored pencils upright.
Week 6: Wristband or Cuff — Your first wearable build.
Week 7: Wallet or Coin Purse — Something you can actually use.
Week 8: Your Shoe — Designed for a specific function and sized to fit your own foot. Showcase day.

Policies

Missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be made up. Full refunds are available if you cancel 10 or more days before the first class. After that, all fees are non-refundable. This program requires a minimum of 18 students to run. If enrollment is not met, the session will be cancelled and all fees fully refunded. Invite your friends!
